northerngooseGreat overall condition set with good tubes. Initially, the battery compartment was covered in oxidation from the previous owner neglecting to remove the batteries. Due to this, the power switch can be temperamental at times (the whole unit has since been cleaned and serviced). The buyer may remedy this with further cleaning if they feel necessary. Most of the white you see remaining inside the battery port is actually sealant from factory assembly. Whilst the rubber O-ring pictured will be included, it was removed from the power supply housing cap during cleaning due to it causing excess pressure and tightness on the power supply module. These NVGs were built using predominantly surplus soviet PNV-57E parts, most notably the tubes. The Filins/NightHawks have a unique housing and unlike the PNV-57E, do not rely on an external power box. Instead, the power supply is located onboard and uses AA's. They are first generation analog night vision and NOT digital; and whilst not absolutely necessary, should be used in conjunction with an IR illuminator to get their full potential. They have a fixed 2.5x magnification and a focus adjuster on each eyepiece. Includes Night vision binoculars, neck strap, user manual/specs sheet and carry case.
